WWE Makes History This Weekend With Clash In Italy

WWE is set to make history this weekend as the company presents its first-ever premium live event from Italy with WWE Clash In Italy on Sunday, May 31.

The event will emanate from the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy, marking another milestone in WWE’s ongoing international expansion. Due to the time difference, fans in the United States will be able to tune in beginning at 2:00 p.m. ET / 11:00 a.m. PT for the main card, while the kickoff show begins at 12:00 p.m. ET / 9:00 a.m. PT.

A stacked lineup featuring multiple world championship bouts, a Tribal Combat showdown, and a highly anticipated clash between two dominant powerhouses has generated significant buzz heading into the event.

WWE Clash in Italy match card:

    • Undisputed WWE Championship Match: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Gunther
    • World Heavyweight Championship – Tribal Combat: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jacob Fatu
    • WWE Women’s Championship Match: Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Jade Cargill
    • Women’s Intercontinental Championship Match: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Sol Ruca
    • Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi

At the top of the card, Roman Reigns will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu in a Tribal Combat match. The Bloodline family rivalry has reached a boiling point, and with Tribal Combat rules in effect, anything can happen when the two collide. Reigns enters as champion, but Fatu has established himself as one of the most dangerous and unpredictable competitors in WWE, creating what could be one of the most chaotic matches of the year.

The Undisputed WWE Championship will also be on the line as Cody Rhodes puts his title up against former World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. Rhodes has continued to cement himself as WWE’s top champion, but Gunther’s dominant track record and relentless in-ring style present perhaps his toughest challenge yet. The clash between Rhodes’ resilience and Gunther’s brutality has all the ingredients of a show-stealing championship encounter.

On the women’s side, WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley defends against Jade Cargill in a dream match that fans have been highly anticipating. Ripley has firmly established herself as one of the most dominant champions in WWE, while Cargill’s impressive rise has positioned her as one of the company’s biggest stars. With power, athleticism, and championship gold at stake, this matchup has major-event written all over it.

The WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship will also be defended when Becky Lynch faces rising star Sol Ruca. Lynch continues to add to her already legendary resume, but Ruca has quickly become one of the most exciting young talents on the roster. A victory over Lynch on a stage of this magnitude would instantly elevate Ruca into championship contention and potentially usher in a new era for the division.

Rounding out the announced card is a blockbuster rematch between Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi. The matchup pits one of the most accomplished competitors in WWE history against one of its fastest-rising powerhouses, in a WrestleMania 42 rematch. Femi has impressed audiences with his combination of size, strength, and athleticism, but standing across from him will be a former UFC Heavyweight Champion and one of the most intimidating figures the industry has ever seen looking to avenge his shocking loss last month at WrestleMania.

With multiple championship matches, family warfare inside Tribal Combat, and WWE’s first premium live event in Italy, Clash In Italy is shaping up to be one of the company’s biggest international events of 2026.

WWE Clash In Italy takes place Sunday, May 31, from the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy. Check back here at Bodyslam.net for coverage of tomorrows WWE Clash in Itlay PLE.

WWE Backlash 2026 Full Show Results & Recap

    Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker

WWE Backlash opened with a hard-hitting singles match between Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker. Rollins appeared to gain momentum after connecting with a Pedigree and fighting off interference from Paul Heyman, Austin Theory, and Logan Paul at ringside.

After attacking members of The Vision with a steel chair, Rollins returned to the ring looking to finish the match. Breakker answered with a massive Spear for a close two-count. Moments later, Breakker attempted another Spear, but Rollins avoided it and immediately connected with a second Pedigree.

Rollins then climbed to the second rope looking for a Super Stomp, but before he could fully connect, Breakker exploded with another Spear in mid-motion. Breakker followed it up with a second devastating Spear to finally put Rollins away.

Result: Bron Breakker defeated Seth Rollins via pinfall after two Spears.

U.S Championship – Sami Zayn vs. Trick Williams (C)

Sami Zayn showed a far more aggressive side throughout his match against Trick Williams. The action escalated when the referee became distracted, allowing Zayn to strike Trick with a kendo stick.

Despite the illegal shot, Trick Williams managed to kick out at two. Sami later prepared for the Helluva Kick, but rapper Lil Yachty interfered from ringside and struck Zayn with the kendo stick, helping Trick regain control.

Zayn fought back and even took out Lil Yachty with a Helluva Kick outside the ring. However, his momentum was short-lived as Trick avoided another Helluva Kick attempt and connected with the Trick Shot to earn the win.

Result: Trick Williams defeated Sami Zayn via pinfall with the Trick Shot.

Kit Wilson & The Miz vs. Danhausen & Minihausen

The comedy tag team match delivered several chaotic moments throughout the night. Minihausen attempted to “curse” Kit Wilson, but Wilson countered by pulling out a mirror to reflect the curse back.

The Miz nearly secured the victory after hitting Minihausen with the Skull Crushing Finale, but Danhausen broke up the pinfall attempt just in time. Later in the match, The Miz attempted to use a fire extinguisher, only for the plan to backfire when he accidentally sprayed himself.

Minihausen launched himself onto Kit Wilson outside the ring, creating an opening for Danhausen to connect with the Punk Kick on The Miz for the victory.

Result: Danhausen & Minihausen defeated The Miz & Kit Wilson via pinfall.

    IYO SKY vs. Asuka

IYO SKY and Asuka delivered one of the most intense and technically sound matches of the evening. Asuka controlled large portions of the bout early, constantly targeting the champion with stiff strikes and submission attempts.

The momentum shifted several times throughout the contest. IYO connected with a German Back Suplex for a near fall, while Asuka repeatedly trapped her in the Asuka Lock. At ringside, Asuka attempted to use the mist, but IYO blocked it with a notebook before launching herself onto her opponent outside the ring.

In the closing moments, IYO SKY connected with the Bullet Train Attack followed by a Moonsault to retain her championship.

Result: IYO SKY defeated Asuka via pinfall. After the match, both women embraced in a respectful and emotional moment as Asuka appeared visibly moved.

John Cena Announces the “John Cena Classic”

John Cena addressed the WWE Universe during a special segment discussing the next chapter of his career following his final official match.

Cena praised rising stars such as Je’Von Evans, Sol Ruca, and Oba Femi before unveiling the “John Cena Classic,” a new WWE tournament designed to showcase the company’s future stars.

Cena also revealed a brand-new championship tied to the tournament and announced that fans will play a major role in deciding the eventual winner.

World Heavyweight Championship – Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jacob Fatu

Jacob Fatu dominated long stretches of the match with overwhelming aggression and physicality, constantly pushing Reigns into survival mode. WWE has rarely presented Reigns in this kind of vulnerable position, and the formula worked perfectly in elevating Fatu as arguably the most dangerous force on Raw today.

The closing moments came after Fatu trapped Reigns in a punishing jaw submission. As Reigns struggled to escape, he grabbed the referee by the shirt. When the official pulled away and briefly turned his back, Reigns shoved Fatu into the exposed turnbuckle before immediately connecting with a Spear for the victory.

Result: Roman Reigns defeated Jacob Fatu via pinfall to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.

After the match, Fatu exploded in frustration and attacked both Reigns and the referee, furious over how the contest ended.

    https://x.com/wwe/status/2053266662380413294?s=46

A date for the event was not revealed, but it was announced that it will be a ‘now vs the future’ type of show with WWE stars facing off against NXT stars. Cena stated that having NXT stars compete on his final show meant a lot to him, and after seeing stars like Oba Femi compete at Wrestlemania, he wanted to introduce this event.

It was also announced that a new championship will be revealed for the classic, and the champion would be voted on by the WWE Universe. Fans will vote for not who wins the matches, but who impresses them the most. For example, Danhausen could enter the classic and lose every match except for one and if the fans are convinced then he will be the first ever John Cena Classic Champion. Cena also stated that his desire for this to be a yearly event taking place as a standalone show but it all depended on the reception from the fans.

The title was not revealed and how participants will qualify for the classic was not revealed either. However Oba Femi seemed like a sure fire favorite.

The reception from the WWE Universe seemed very positive. We will see how the event will be structured and provide updates when available.

WWE Backlash Results: IYO Sky vs Asuka

IYO SKY and Asuka delivered one of the most intense and technical matches of the night at Backlash 2026, as both women showcased incredible resilience and control inside the ring.

Asuka dominated a large portion of the match early on, repeatedly punishing IYO SKY with a combination of strikes and kicks. However, IYO managed to respond with a missile dropkick followed by a knee strike that temporarily shifted the momentum in her favor.

Later in the match, Asuka regained control with a running kick that nearly secured the victory. Shortly after, IYO surprised the challenger with a German Back Suplex for a two-count. Asuka immediately countered by trapping IYO in a submission hold, though the champion managed to escape.

They continued exchanging offense until they were taken down following a hard kick from IYO. Once they got back to their feet, Asuka applied the Asuka Lock, but IYO escaped once again. Moments later, Asuka locked in an armbar in the center of the ring, although IYO broke free and answered with a submission hold of her own. Eventually, Asuka reached the ropes to force the break.

The action spilled to the outside when IYO attempted a suicide dive, but Asuka intercepted her with an elbow strike from ringside. Later, both wrestlers battled on top of the announce table as Asuka attempted to use the mist. However, IYO blocked the attack with a notebook before striking Asuka and diving off the table onto her.

IYO continued the assault with a springboard moonsault to the outside. Later, she attempted another moonsault inside the ring but failed to connect. Asuka capitalized on the mistake and reapplied the Asuka Lock in the center of the ring. Nevertheless, IYO managed to reverse the situation into a near fall, forcing Asuka to release the hold.

  • WWE Backlash Results: Danhausen/? VS Kit Willson/The Miz

WWE Backlash Results: Danhausen/? VS Kit Willson/The Miz

One of the biggest mysteries of the weekend was revealed when Danhausen revealed his tag team partner to be… Mini Danhausen!

Danhausen would come out with the clone machine he revealed last night on SmackDown and after speculation from CM Punk to… Shane McMahon? No one knew would be revealed as the tag partner. Mini Danhausen would then walk down to the ring with Danhausen to then take on The Miz and Kit Wilson.

During the match, Mini Danhausen would be very physical, from high flying moments to an airplane spin!

Kit would try to throw Mini Danhausen back into the clone machine only for it to turn back on to reveal MORE mini Danhausens! They would then dog pile Kit Wilson before throwing him to the ring.

Danhausen would then take out The Miz with a pump kick to get the pinfall victory. After a very fun but also very good showing from Danhausen it will interesting to see what happens next for Danhausen and the current feud.

  • WWE Backlash Results: Trick Williams (c) VS Sami Zayn

WWE Backlash Results: Trick Williams (c) VS Sami Zayn

Whoop that Trick! Trick Williams defeated Sami Zayn at Backlash to retain the United States Championship.

Throughout the match, Sami Zayn would put his focus on Lil Yachty instead of turning his attention to Trick. Sami would show more heel tendencies throughout the match, with Trick being the obvious favorite with the Tampa crowd. Trick and Sami would have a physical battle, but Sami just couldn’t stop focusing on the outside area.

Sami would then go out to the outside ring and take out his frustration on Yachty but Trick would go out to help his friend. Sami would take down Trick and throw him inside the ring.

In the closing moments of the match Sami would take out Lil Yachty with a Helluva Kick to the back of the head in the corner of the barricade. Sami would then laugh at the crowd as they boo’d. Zayn would then roll back into the ring to try to land a Helluva Kick on Trick. Williams would then counter and land a Trickshot to end the match and retain the United States Championship.

WWE is slowly turning Zayn into a heel with Trick turning babyface. It will be interesting to see where the story goes from here.
