Josh Alexander Defeated Steve Maclin In “First Time Ever” Match Between The Two At Victory Road
Last night, the Main Event of Victory Road was literal months in the making.
Back in March it looked like Steve Maclin was on track to get a shot at Josh Alexander and his World Title belt. Then, Josh got hurt. His recovery was quicker than anybody anticipated, but Maclin got hurt in that time also.
Now both men are back. Josh relinquished the World Title belt back in March after having surgery on his triceps. Josh returned at Slammiversary to confront IMPACT World Champion Alex Shelley and stake his claim to the belt he never lost.
Last week during the IMPACTonAXSTV broadcast, Maclin returned and attacked Josh’s surgically repaired arm. After that, Maclin challenged Josh to settle the score at Victory Road.
The match kicked off with both men in the middle of the ring.
Josh and Maclin are battling on the outside of the ring. Josh picks Maclin up and drops him head first onto the ring edge.
Josh bounces off the ropes and hit Maclin with a crossbody off the ropes, sending him to the outside.
Both competitors are throwing everything they’ve got at each other.
Maclin gets the better of Josh, Alexander rolls out of the ring to regroup.
Both men go back and forth, trying to leave it all In the ring.
Josh nails Maclin with 10 German Suplexes, and finally ends it with a C4 Spike.
Maclin took to his social media Twitter account after the loss to comment, noting this is “Just The Beginning”
