FTR’s Opponents Confirmed For NJPW Battle Autumn On 11/5/22

FTR’s opponents for the event have been officially revealed.

It was announced recently that FTR would be appearing on the November 5th show and that they would be defending the IWGP Tag Team Championships. Now, we know who the team will be defending against.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling announced that FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) will defend their IWGP Tag Team Titles against United Empire (Jeff Cobb & Great-O-Khan) at the November 5 NJPW Battle Autumn event. This will be a rematch of their encounter where FTR would defeat United Empire to win the championships.

You can read the full statement on the match below.

FTR make their long awaited Japanese NJPW debuts in Osaka to put the IWGP tag team Championships on the line against Jeff Cobb and Great-O-Khan. What should arguably have been an open and shut case for an FTR title defence ended up with a few more twists in the tale for the United Empire side. The former IWGP Tag champions lost their titles without being pinned as FTR seized gold by defeating Roppongi Vice in a three way match at Forbidden Door. Cobb and O-Khan were justified in demanding a rematch, but were first confronted by more former champions, first in Bad Luck Fale and Chase Owens, and then Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI.

In the meantime, FTR defended their titles in London against Aussie Open in what many called the tag team match of the year. Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis came just short of taking the titles in London, will O-Khan and Cobb finish the job in Osaka?

NJPW Statement

Time will tell how this match will go, with FTR recently defending the titles successfully over the likes of Aussie Open, who are also members of the United Empire Faction.
