WWE is still working on building the WrestleMania 37 card. With two days of show to fill, it will not just take a solid mid-card to make it happen, but it will also have to have the perfect marquee matches to make each day feel like an event all of itself. Thankfully two people have already locked in what they’re doing on the Grandest Stage of Them All, with Edge and Bianca Belair being this year’s Royal Rumble winners.
We already seem to have an idea of what Edge is up to for WrestleMania, but what about Belair?
It seems that hasn’t been decided just yet. Though she can pick her opponent in storyline, Wrestling Observer Radio reports the WWE has not officially decided which brand’s champion they’d like her to face.
“We’ve got two pay-per-views until WrestleMania, I mean they’ve got all kinds of weird stuff.”
“They have not completely decided, so we are still up in the air on that one, but I think it’s gonna be Sasha Banks because it just feels like Sasha Banks because she’s on SmackDown, and it just makes sense. I mean, it could be Asuka. I’m not sure what they’re doing with Asuka. They might be going with Charlotte Flair, but Charlotte Flair’s big program is with Lacey Evans.”
It’s a strange situation, because both women’s titles seem far more fluid than the locked in nature of Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre. At any moment, Asuka could be dethroned and it makes Evans and Flair the Raw Women’s Title match unless Belair challenges the winner, or Carmella could sneak her way into the situation or even Bayley to gain revenge on Bianca. Of course, if WWE chooses to acknowledge it, they may even have a controversy based on a noticed botched Rumble finish. WWE has time and lots of choices before we get to Raymond James Stadium. The good news at least is Belair will have her WrestleMania moment in front of a live crowd.
