Yuya Uemura Wins The First Title Of His Career, Becomes New KOPW 2024 Champion

New Japan Pro-Wrestling young star Yuya Uemura has won the first championship of his career as he defeated Great-O-Khan to become the new KOPW 2024 Champion.

The title change occurred on April 27th at the NJPW Road To Wrestling Dontaku 2024 event in Hiroshima. The match was a Rural Revitalization bout and consisted of three rounds which was the idea of Great-O-Khan.

The first round was a tire carrying contest in which the wrestlers had to carry four Mazda tires into the ring from the entranceway the quickest to be declared the winner. Uemura was the winner of the first round.

The second round which was a lemon eating contest which was won by O-Khan who consumed his lemon, including peel faster than Uemura.

The final round was a tables match which was won by Uemura as he put O-Khan through a table with a Deadbolt suplex to become the new KOPW 2024 Champion.

Uemura returned to NJPW back in October 2023 after an excursion with IMPACT Wrestling in the USA and quickly aligned himself with the Just Five Guys faction. He is strongly considered one of the next future superstars for NJPW.
