Botch On Raw Last Night Caused Match To Restart

Last night on Raw featured the women having three separate matches. Charlotte Flair and Shayna Baszler went to a DQ when Nia Jax interfered. When some sides were evened, we wound up with a 6-woman tag match with Charlotte teaming with Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke against Baszler, Jax, and Lacey Evans. Their match eventually ended when Flair, Brooke, and Rose won by count out, only for WWE Official Adam Pearce to restart the match stating nobody wanted to see it end via count out.

This was not supposed to happen this way. Baszler was legitimately counted out during the match, causing an unintended botch. PWInsider has reported the count out was unintentional, creating the need for Pearce to come out and improvise the restart.

Last night’s six woman tag team bout featuring Charlotte Flair, Mandy Rose, and Dana Brooke vs. Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler and Lacey Evans had to be stopped and restarted after a commercial break as Baszler was legitimately counted out of the ring by the referee, leading to Adam Pearce being sent out to improvise a restart.

Referees in the WWE have been instructed to call the matches like shoots, helping the referees gain credibility so they don’t look idiotic when heels cheat. Their instructions to call matches as shoot has created botched finishes on Raw in the past though, as there was a botched finish between The New Day and The Hurt Business back in November.
