  • Brian Myers Opens Up About How Much Longer He Wants To Wrestle

Brian Myers Opens Up About How Much Longer He Wants To Wrestle

Veteran pro wrestler Brian Myers is thinking more seriously than ever about how much longer he wants to continue competing inside the ring.

During a recent appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Myers opened up about the realities of getting older in professional wrestling, while also explaining why he remains motivated to continue performing at a high level.

Now approaching his 41st birthday, Myers admitted that the conversation surrounding longevity has become something he thinks about constantly.

“More than ever. Yeah, it’s crazy how much it’s been [on my mind]. I’ll be 41 in a month. Ever since I turned 40, it just feels like, oh man. I always say Father Time is undefeated, and an injury could stop me. I just want to be the best version of myself, whatever that takes. We talked about Brock earlier, just taking care of yourself and staying healthy. Just because doing this is such a privilege to me.

“Like I said, when I have my last match, I’m gonna cry like a baby, because I just love it so much. It’s been such a part of my life. I’ve been doing it more than not at this point. So I think about it constantly. But then there’s people who are real motivations to me, like Edge and Christian and Chris Jericho. I see them still doing it at a high level, and they’re much older than me. I’m like, okay, sh*t, they’re doing it.

“Even guys like Frankie Kazarian and Eric Young at work, they are in the best shape of their lives, still having incredible matches, and they’re a little bit older. I’m like, okay, like they keep me motivated to stay on the ball.”

Myers has built a lengthy career across multiple major promotions, becoming one of the most reliable and respected veterans in the industry. Whether teaming with Matt Cardona, competing in IMPACT/TNA Wrestling, or appearing on the independent scene, Myers has consistently remained active throughout nearly two decades in the business.

While retirement is clearly something on his mind, Myers made it equally clear that he still has a strong passion for professional wrestling and continues to draw inspiration from veteran performers who are still excelling well into their 40s and beyond.

Names like Adam Copeland, Christian Cage, and Chris Jericho continue to prove that longevity in wrestling is possible with the right mindset and commitment to staying healthy, something Myers appears determined to emulate as he moves deeper into the later stages of his career.

At the same time, Myers’ comments also reflected the emotional connection many lifelong performers have to the business. Wrestling has been a defining part of his life for decades, and he acknowledged that eventually stepping away from the ring will not come easy.

For now, however, Myers appears focused on continuing to evolve, stay healthy, and perform at the highest level possible while he still has the opportunity to do what he loves.

  • Bryan Danielson Officially Moved From AEW Roster Page To Broadcast Team Page

Bryan Danielson Officially Moved From AEW Roster Page To Broadcast Team Page

One of the defining stars of the modern era appears to have officially closed the chapter on his in-ring run in All Elite Wrestling.

AEW has now officially moved Bryan Danielson from the company’s active roster page to the AEW broadcast team section on its official website, further cementing the idea that “The American Dragon” has transitioned away from active competition and into his new full-time role behind the desk.

Danielson originally debuted with AEW on September 5, 2021, (as first reported by Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net) making his shocking first appearance for the company at the AEW All Out pay-per-view event in Chicago. (His debut date was also originally reported by Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net) The debut instantly became one of the most memorable moments in the company’s history, as Danielson arrived in AEW after an iconic run in WWE following a two year hiatus following neck surgery and immediately positioned himself as one of the cornerstones of the promotion.

Over the course of his AEW career, Danielson delivered classic matches against names like Kenny Omega, Hangman Adam Page, MJF, Zack Sabre Jr., Kazuchika Okada, and Will Ospreay while also helping elevate younger talent across the roster. His run included winning the AEW World Championship and headlining multiple major pay-per-view events.

Bryan Danielson’s last professional wrestling match took place on October 12, 2024, during the main event of the AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view. In that match, Danielson lost the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley in what many viewed as a fitting and emotional conclusion to his full-time in-ring career.

While speculation about Danielson’s future continued throughout 2025, AEW eventually confirmed his transition into broadcasting when he officially debuted on commentary on a full-time basis beginning with the September 10, 2025 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Since joining the booth, Danielson has received praise from fans for bringing the same intensity, technical insight, and authenticity to commentary that defined his wrestling career. His ability to break down matches from a competitor’s perspective has quickly made him one of the standout voices on AEW programming.

The roster page update may not come as a surprise to longtime fans following Danielson’s career trajectory, but it does serve as another symbolic moment in the evolution of one of professional wrestling’s most respected performers.

Even if his days as an active competitor are over, Bryan Danielson continues to leave a major imprint on AEW — just now from the broadcast desk instead of inside the ring.

We will keep you updated here at Bodyslam.net if we hear anything more about Bryan Daniels, and his AEW status.

  • Lash Legend Believes Kali Armstrong Has WWE Hall Of Fame Potential

Lash Legend Believes Kali Armstrong Has WWE Hall Of Fame Potential

    Real recognizes real, they say.

WWE Superstar Lash Legend had high praise for rising NXT talent Kali Armstrong during a recent appearance on Bodyslam.net’s Wrestleholics podcast, calling Armstrong a future Hall of Famer and one of the standout names in WWE’s evolving developmental system.

As WWE continues to spotlight new faces across NXT and EVOLVE, Lash spoke about the growing opportunities for emerging talent and pointed directly to Armstrong as someone poised to break through in a major way.

“I feel like it’s a new evolution of NXT, and I feel like the people that deserve more recognition are starting to get those opportunities. So it’s really cool to see Cali.”

Lash continued by emphasizing Armstrong’s upside and overall presence, making it clear she believes the young star has all the tools needed to succeed at the highest level.

“Yeah, I mean, everybody should know about NXT. That girl is something serious, and I believe that she can be a Hall of Famer one day. She is just that good. She’s so coachable, she loves it, she has a passion for it, and she looks great, so shout out to her.”

Armstrong has quickly become one of the more talked-about names among WWE’s developing talent pool, especially following her run with the EVOLVE Championship. According to Lash, the next step is now establishing herself as a force within NXT.

“She’s somebody that I’m like, ‘Yeah, go get that title.’ She came in with the EVOLVE Championship, so that was really cool, but I think it’s time for her to make her mark in NXT.”

  • WWE Sources Reportedly Believe Ludwig Kaiser ICE Story Was Planted

WWE Sources Reportedly Believe Ludwig Kaiser ICE Story Was Planted

WWE Superstar Ludwig Kaiser (real name Marcel Barthel) was arrested in Orlando, Florida on May 20, 2026, for misdemeanor battery following an April 23 altercation at his apartment complex. According to an arrest affidavit, Kaiser and a woman (WWE personality Andrea Bazarte) were “aggressively kissing” inside an elevator at the Paramount on Lake Eola Apartments.

The victim, identified as Richard Reap, exited on the 12th floor and told the couple to “please have some manners”. Reap told police that Kaiser followed him out and punched and pushed him to the ground, causing a scratch on his head.

Police secured surveillance footage matching the victim’s account, identified Kaiser, and issued a warrant. Kaiser learned of the warrant while working in Mexico, returned to Orlando, turned himself in, and was released on a $1,000 bond. Kaiser entered a plea of not guilty. Because his wrestling career requires international travel, his legal team successfully filed a motion allowing him to travel while the case is ongoing.

It was previously reported by Fightful Select, that WWE currently has no heat with Kaiser over the incident and is not expected to issue internal disciplinary action. He is scheduled to continue his high-profile “El Grande Americano” mask versus mask match against Chad Gable in AAA. However, there is now a new update from Fightful Select regarding the recent Ludwig Kaiser and Andrea Bazarte situation.

According to information obtained by Fightful Select, several WWE sources indicated they believe the story involving Kaiser defending Bazarte from ICE-related comments may have been intentionally planted from within the company.

Fightful noted that an unfamiliar phone number reportedly contacted multiple members of wrestling media directly with the story. Sources also pointed out that the information did not appear to originate from Ludwig Kaiser, Andrea Bazarte, or WWE’s official communications team.

The report states that the unusual nature of the outreach raised eyebrows internally, especially given how selectively the information was distributed.

At this point, there has been no official statement from WWE, Kaiser, or Bazarte regarding the situation.

We will continue to monitor the story here at Bodyslam.net, and provide additional updates as more information becomes available.

  • Bushiroad Announces Sale Of NJPW Shares To TV Asahi And CyberAgent

Bushiroad Announces Sale Of NJPW Shares To TV Asahi And CyberAgent

After more than a decade overseeing the resurgence of New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Bushiroad has officially announced that it will sell all of its shares in New Japan Pro-Wrestling to TV Asahi and CyberAgent.

The announcement was made through Bushiroad’s official corporate channels and marks the end of an era that began in 2012, when the company acquired NJPW during a pivotal point in the promotion’s history.

Bushiroad president Takaaki Kidani reflected positively on the company’s time with NJPW, describing the move as a transition into the next phase of growth for the promotion.

According to the statement, Bushiroad believes NJPW is now positioned to expand further through stronger digital initiatives, streaming opportunities, and broader global media strategies under the direction of TV Asahi and CyberAgent.

The company also highlighted the promotion’s recent success, including the January 4 Tokyo Dome event drawing 46,913 fans and becoming NJPW’s first Tokyo Dome sellout in 28 years.

Bushiroad framed the announcement as a successful completion of the rebuilding process that began over a decade ago. The statement emphasized the rise of a new generation of talent and described the sale as a “passing of the torch” moment for the company.

While the move will undoubtedly generate discussion across the wrestling industry, the tone of the announcement did not indicate financial instability or operational concerns surrounding NJPW. Instead, Bushiroad presented the decision as a strategic move intended to position the promotion for continued expansion in the streaming and digital media landscape.

CyberAgent’s growing involvement in digital entertainment and streaming platforms could signal increased emphasis on international accessibility and multimedia distribution moving forward, while TV Asahi has maintained a longstanding relationship with NJPW through broadcast partnerships.

Bushiroad’s acquisition of NJPW in 2012 is widely viewed as one of the most important turning points in modern Japanese professional wrestling. During that stretch, the company helped oversee NJPW’s international expansion, streaming growth, and rise back into global prominence.

Now, after 14 years, ownership of one of wrestling’s most influential promotions is entering a new chapter.

We will keep you updated here at Bodyslam.net as more information about Bushirod’s sale of New Japan Pro Wrestling to CyberAgent and TV Asahi becomes known.
