UFC Planning Return to Australia in First Quarter of 2023

The UFC is set to make it’s return to the Land Down Under in the first quarter of 2023.

During an appearance on the MMA Hour. UFC Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski revealed that the UFC is planning a 2023 return to Australia.

The last time UFC made an appearance in Australia was back in 2019 when Israel Adesanya defeated Robert Whittaker to become the undisputed UFC Middleweight champion.

Volkanovski said it would only be fair if he fights at the event, he is also open to the idea of having Josh Emmett vs. Yair Rodriguez for the interim Featherweight championship since there is no true number one contender in his eyes.

At the moment it is unknown if the UFC will be going back to Australia, UFC President Dana White shut down any plans to go to Australia this year. But a return for next year has a good chance of happening.
