Zelina Vega made her return to WWE on last night’s episode of SmackDown, and will be participating in the upcoming Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder match.
Vega was released from WWE back in November of 2020 after she refused to comply with the company’s new third party platform mandate.
There were reports that Vega was under a contractual obligation which was preventing her from potentially signing with AEW, it began to look more and more like a WWE return was coming after she was seen at the Performance Center filming vignettes with The Rock’s daughter.
More reports began to circulate in April that WWE was planning on bringing Vega back to the main roster, and according to a new report via Fightful Select, there were “several influential names” that were pushing internally for Zelina to be brought back into the company from the point of her release on.
“From the point of Zelina’s release, there were several influential names pushing for her to be brought back by the company.”
It wasn’t specified exactly who the “influential names” were that were pushing for Zelina Vega’s return to WWE, but it looks as though this time around she will be wrestling more during this run with the company than she did in her previous stint.
