Mustafa Ali Tweets About Not Being On WrestleMania This Year

It’s been an up and down story for Mustafa Ali. What seemed to be the start of a promising push a couple years ago before WrestleMania 35 was derailed by an injury and turned into KofiMania. Since then, he has struggled to gain traction despite what looked to be a prime position as leader of Retribution. Now for the second straight year, Ali will be absent from WrestleMania.

Ali spoke about this on Twitter and instead of pushing blame onto others, it seemed like he put the blame on himself and no one else. However, instead of feeling dejected, it seemed to make him only more determined.

Hundreds of excuses. Hundreds of hurdles and lies. But at the end of the day, it’s on me. No one and nothing else to blame but me. Another year, another WrestleMania that I’m not going to compete in. Nothing has ever been given to me. This is no different. Next year, you’re mine.

Ali got several messages of support from fans who understand his frustration and his desire to keep working for something instead of waiting for it to be handed to them. Ali has proven to be a spectacular talent on the microphone and in the ring, so it may just be a matter of time before he gets the opportunity he’s looking for.
