WWE recently released Steve Cutler following a positive Covid-19 test that was probably contracted on New Years Eve.
The latest episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned that Murphy was affected by the release of Steve Cutler because King Corbin’s Knights of the Lone Wolf were supposed to begin a feud with Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio, and Murphy.
Wesley Blake was along side Baron Corbin and Steve Cutler but following the Cutler situation, the storyline was cut from TV and Blake, Murphy, and Aalyah haven’t been on television since.
Meltzer mentioned that there was no specific reason given as to why the storyline was dropped so abruptly.
WWE quickly jumped to Baron Corbin feuding with Rey and Dominik Mysterio.
Murphy hasn’t appeared on television since December 4 on Smackdown against Corbin
