The legend of Brodie Lee Jr. continues to grow.
The 8-year old son of the late TNT Champion has had a difficult week, but it will be one full of memories as he signed a legitimate contract with AEW. If and when he chooses to become a professional wrestler, he will have a home with All Elite Wrestling. In addition to this, Tony Khan took the current TNT Title and retired it, giving it to Lee Jr. as a gift and making sure nobody else will hold that version of it in honor of his father.
During a recent Dynamite taping, an off air moment happened where the son of the former TNT Champion was able to get into the ring with Kenny Omega, defeating him for the AEW World Title in a feel good moment for the family, even if it will never make it to air. Brodie Lee Jr. may never be credited for that title reign, but he now has another accomplishment to add to his potential career.
Lee can now add defeating a former NXT Champion to his list of accomplishments this week, as during AEW’s New Year’s party last night, Adam Cole attended the event with his girlfriend Britt Baker and spent some time with the young man. During the gathering, Brodie Lee Jr. squared off with Cole in an impromptu match and Cole was pinned after the man known as -1 hit him with his father’s spinning lariat.
With Ricky Starks and others in the background, it’s clear Brodie Lee Jr. is a welcome part of the AEW family. Maybe it was why they cheered him on as he hit the competition with a lariat. And hey, with a victory like that, no wonder AEW named him their Wrestler of the Week.
