Brodie Lee Received Help From AEW Vice President Getting Into Mayo Clinic

One of the more tragic details of Brodie Lee’s passing comes from knowing he had been hospitalized for months prior to his passing. Staying at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Lee eventually passed away from a non-COVID related lung issue on December 26th. In a move that continued to show just how classy All Elite Wrestling has been in helping Lee and his family, it turns out AEW helped him get into the Mayo Clinic.

AEW Vice President Chris Harrington was a long time friend of Brodie Lee’s. Their friendship goes back two decades, both of them from the Rochester, New York area and in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed it was Harrington that helped Lee get into the Mayo Clinic so specialists could see him dating back to October.

A few in the company were aware for two months, as Chris Harrington, a Vice President of AEW who knew Huber for two decades since both were originally from Rochester, NY, was able to get him to the Mayo Clinic to see the best specialists in late October, as they realized the seriousness of his issues.

While not everyone knew how bad Lee’s illness was, the ones who knew tried to “put on a happy outward face” while the company kept things close to the chest out of respect for his family. They did their best to look after him like family while he was alive, and they are continuing to look after his family even after his passing.
