SAnitY Discuss Their Main Roster Run Under Vince McMahon

SAnitY members Big Damo, and Axel Tischer recently reunited under the Progress Wrestling banner in the UK. Since their reuniting, the former Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe have gone onto capture the promotion’s tag team titles, and are about to embark upon a tour of North America defending the titles across affiliated promotions.

Recently Damo and Tischer sat down with Gerry Rushe from Irish Wrestling Entertainment, for an incredibly indepth discussion and interview. As part of this the former SAnitY members dicussed some of the pit falls they encountered after being promoted to WWE’s main roster, from the NXT developmental brand.

Damo: “Main issue with when we went up to the main roster, we went up without Nikki and we were faces in NXT and we were having a great run with the Undisputed Era, and we went up to Smackdown and brand new Villains but we were meant to debut in the main event of a six man where it was the New Day vs Miz and a couple of others.

So it was meant to start there but they ran over on time, so we were meant to debut the next week but Shinsuke Nakamura got bitten by a dog so EY had to do a random singles match that became a tag match that was a complete mess. So we start very awkwardly and without Nikki, who effectively was the heart of the group. Hunter had her so important to the dynamic, so that was gone”.

Later, Damo would go onto tell a specific anecdote relating to the now persona non grata Vince McMahon.

“So one of the guys, he’s the head writer in NXT now, told me a hilarious story on Vince,

Vince saw a promo we had done, think it was from Atlanta in the basement, Vince saw it and loved it so much, get them up here right now, and we were in the middle of a feud and we were champions at the time, so had to drop the belts and it all happened really quickly. Then Vince watched the same promo 3 weeks later and hated it, so everything kind of stalled”.
