Last night on WWE NXT, Finn Balor was crowned the new NXT Champion.
In a continuation of last week Fatal 4 Way 60 Minute Iron Man Match, NXT Super Tuesday II kicked off with Balor defeating Adam Cole with a “Super 1916” from the turnbuckle. A gteat back and forth matdj saw Balor withstand Cole working on his leg throughout, a number of superkicks and even Cole’s “Last Shot” finisher during a red hot closing stretch before finally putting Cole away.
This victory makes Balor only the third man in NXT history to become a two time NXT Champion.
Last Tuesday’s Fatal Four Way Iron Man match surprisingly ended up being declared a draw with Balor and Cole each picking up two victories. Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa both ended that match with only one fall each. Following the contest, NXT general manager William Regal came out to announce that Balor and Cole would be going to overtime this week.
The title was vacated two weeks ago after an injury suffered to Karrion Kross during his title victory against former champion Keith Lee.
