Cody Rhodes Reportedly Sent Emails To WWE Superstars Gauging Their Interest In AEW

Chris Jericho talked on the latest episode of his Saturday Night Special show that he reached out and contacted Brodie Lee when he asked to be released from his WWE contract. This lead many people to wonder whether or not that was a form of tampering, but that is not the case as it is just two friends talking.

Jericho reaching out to Brodie Lee, apparently isn’t the only time a member of the AEW roster has contacted somebody within WWE and gauged interest in joining All Elite Wrestling. On a recent episode of Vince Russo’s The Brand podcast, Russo said that Billi Bhatti had received emails from current WWE Superstars which showed AEW Star and EVP Cody Rhodes asking if they had any interest in All Elite Wrestling.

Russo goes on to explain that this isn’t an example of tampering because it is just a case of friends emailing each other.

“Billi was given emails by talent — WWE talent direct from Cody Rhodes just having a little conversation with them to see if they’d be interested in coming to AEW, and bro they gotta go about it that way because it’s kinda friends talking to friends there’s no breaking contracts or anything like that. Billi himself saw the email from Cody to various talent.”

You can listen to Vince Russo and Billi Bhatti talk about Cody Rhodes emailing WWE talent about their interest in working for AEW below.
