As the Executive Director of WWE Raw, Paul Heyman’s influence has been felt throughout the show. One of Heyman’s influences on RAW has been the recent amount of airtime for one WWE Superstar.
On last night’s episode of RAW we saw Akira Tozawa participate in the “Last Chance Gauntlet Match”. Although Tozawa lost the match rather quickly, he was still once again featured on the broadcast.
On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned that Paul Heyman is a big fan of Akira Tozawa. He added that this is the reason that we keep seeing Tozawa appear on RAW.
In addition to his recent appearances on RAW, Tozawa is also a participant in the WWE Cruiserweight Tournament that is taking place on NXT.
We will have to see if these small spots that have been given to Akira Tozawa on RAW and his involvement in the Cruiserweight Tournament will end up amounting to anything. Either way, it never hurts to have Paul Heyman in your corner.
