WWE is always trying to bolster their roster by signing and in the top independent talent from all over the world, and it looks like we can expect to see a huge international name join the company in September.
According to a report in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter top Mexican Superstar El Hijo del Fantasma is expected to report to the WWE Performance Center beginning sometime in September. WWE has been attempting to work out the details to bring him in for awhile now, however his previous contract with Lucha Underground had been preventing that from happening.
“WWE has been wanting him since the first season of Lucha Underground aired, as he was a good worker and speaks perfect English. But his Lucha Underground contract kept it from happening for years.”
Last year at AAA Lucha Libre’s TripleMania XXVI PPV, El Hijo del Fantasma lost his mask in a match against La Park, he had previously been working with IMPACT Wrestling as well.
We will keep you updated if we hear anything more about El Hijo del Fantasma, who’s real name is Jorge Alcantar.
