EXCLUSIVE: Mickie James Talks TNA’s Move to AMC: “So Many More Eyeballs” on the Product

TNA Wrestling’s continued evolution into a more visible and widely accessible brand has not gone unnoticed by one of its most accomplished stars. Knockouts legend Mickie James recently spoke about the company’s move to AMC, emphasizing the significance of the platform shift and what it means for the promotion’s future.

While attending Astronomicon 9, Bodyslam.net’s Kyle Collison asked James about TNA’s growing presence and what it means for a company with a long history across multiple networks to now land on a mainstream channel like AMC.

James, who has seen TNA through multiple eras, from its Spike TV heyday to its rebuilding years, offered a grounded but optimistic perspective on the transition.

“I’ve seen TNA through so many waves of different networks and all the things in the Spike TV and that,” James said. “But to be now on AMC… the amount of eyeballs that can be on it—TNA has a wonderful product.”

James pointed to the strength of the current roster as a key reason why the expanded exposure could be a turning point.

“They have a strong division. They have some amazing superstars. They have some amazing Knockouts—the division is strong creatively. It’s just such a great show.”

With AMC offering a broader audience reach, James believes the potential upside is significant not just for TNA as a brand, but for the performers themselves.

“But now on AMC, you know, there’s going to be so many more eyeballs on it.”

The added visibility also opens the door for crossover opportunities, something James highlighted as an exciting byproduct of the partnership.

“You’ve seen with the collaboration with the network and having some stars from other shows, from other genres kind of crossover and come to a wrestling show and kind of be there and hang out.”

And in classic Mickie James fashion, she even teased a potential celebrity crossover she’d like to see happen.

“Yeah… Jelly Roll. Still waiting for that collab.”

TNA’s move to AMC represents another step in the company’s ongoing resurgence, pairing an already solid in-ring product with the potential for increased mainstream exposure. If James’ assessment holds true, the Knockouts division, and TNA as a whole, may be poised to reach its largest audience in years.

You can check out the entire interview with Mickie James below.

  • TNA Announces Official Return Of LOCKDOWN PPV In August

TNA Announces Official Return Of LOCKDOWN PPV In August

Moments ago via their social media Twitter/X account, TNA Wrestling officially announced the event.

    https://x.com/thisistna/status/2044777841473306955?s=46

Last week, TNA released their entire 2026 event schedule with two new PPVs being added – one on Sunday, August 23rd in Chicago, and one on Sunday, November 15 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Those events weren’t listed as PPVs at the time, just event dates and locations.

This event will be held at the Credit Union One Arena on the Chicago UIC campus.

According to their own press release, every match on the show will be held inside of the Lockdown cage.

TNA Wrestling Revives Lockdown — An Iconic Pro Wrestling Event With All Matches Held Inside A Steel Cage — on Sunday, August 23 In Chicago

Lethal Lockdown Main Event Returns For The First Time Since 2016: A Multi-Person War Inside a Fully-Enclosed Steel Cage, Complete With Weapons

One of professional wrestling’s most iconic and feared events is back. TNA Wrestling announced today that Lockdown — a showcase event in which every match is contested inside a steel cage — will return on Sunday, August 23, broadcasting live around the world on pay-per-view from Credit Union 1 Arena in downtown Chicago. It marks TNA’s first Lockdown event since 2016, and the company’s first-ever show at the history-filled arena.

The 2026 Lockdown is TNA’s first live event held at the venue formerly known as the UIC Pavilion, an on-campus arena steeped in pro wrestling history. Chi-Town Rumble from World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1989, for instance, was held at the UIC Pavilion, featuring Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat against Ric Flair for the NWA World Championship in the main event. Chi-Town Rumble also featured Lex Luger, Mike Rotunda, Sting, Butch Reed and The Midnight Express, among others.

    LOCKDOWN ANNOUNCEMENT VIDEO:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKg8I39pACg

Full match card details for Lockdown will be announced this summer. Confirmed to appear at Lockdown are Jeff & Matt Hardy (The Hardys), Nic Nemeth, Mustafa Ali, Moose, AJ Francis, Mike Santana, Steve Maclin, Brian Myers, Eric Young, and Leon Slater, among others. The TNA Knockouts Division also will be featured prominently, with Ash By Elegance, Tessa Blanchard, Elayna Black, Indi Hartwell, and others scheduled to compete inside the cage.

TNA Wrestling debuted Lockdown in 2005, making it the first pro wrestling pay-per-view in which every match was contested inside a steel cage. The event quickly became one of TNA’s three flagship annual events, alongside Slammiversary and Bound for Glory. The inaugural Lockdown featured A.J. Styles vs. Abyss and introduced the Lethal Lockdown match — TNA’s signature take on the classic WarGames match — in which two teams enter the cage one by one in alternating fashion, with the fully-enclosed, weapon-laden cage not unlocked until all competitors have entered. Memorable Lockdown main events over the years included Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle, Sting vs. Mick Foley, and a series of epic Lethal Lockdown battles.

TNA held Lockdown annually from 2005 through 2016, with the final event taking place at Wembley Arena in London — where Matt Hardy defeated EC3 in a steel cage to capture the TNA World Championship in front of a sold-out international crowd. The 2026 Chicago edition marks the event’s long-awaited return.

  • TNA World Champion Mike Santana Touts Viewership On AMC and Locker Room

TNA World Champion Mike Santana Touts Viewership On AMC and Locker Room

TNA debuted on their new home in the United States – AMC Network – for the flagship Thursday Night iMPACT! show back on January 15th. The show airs at 9-11pm ET every Thursday Night on AMC and streaming on both TNA + and AMC + apps.

While speaking with Denise Salcedo on a recent episode of Busted Open After Dark, TNA World Heavyweight Champion Mike Santana, he shared his thoughts on the AMC network and the growth they’ve shown so far.

“I think it’s been going great, like the numbers have been going up and they’ve been consistent, so that’s always a good thing, right? And I think everyone has maintained that mindset of we want to do everything that we can to continue elevating the brand and elevating the show. And I think the beauty of our locker room is that everyone has that. Everyone is focused, everyone has their own personal goals. Everyone has their own personal agendas. That’s the nature of it, right? But overall, everyone is doing what they need to do for the betterment of the brand.”

While he admitted that things are going great in TNA in the AMC era, he feels that there’s more scope for growth. He believes that TNA is primed to rise and grow with the momentum it has gained since moving to AMC.

“Not everything is perfect. There’s going to be holes and things. But for where we’re at right now and what we’re doing and the consistency that we’re seeing with the numbers, I think we’re in a good space, and it’s up to us to continue that.”

Mike Santana defeated Frankie Kazarian on the debut of TNA on AMC to close out the January 15th premiere episode to become a two-time TNA World Champion. Santana has held the title ever since, including a successful defense this past Saturday Night against Eddi Edwards at the Rebellion PPV. After beating Eddie, Mike will be on tonights episode of Thursday Night iMPACT! to address everybody else who’s coming after him.

TNA is settling into the network at an average viewership of around 250,000 each week on the network, and a 0.05 in the main 18-49 demographic.

You can keep track of TNA viewership here.

  • TNA Legend ODB Revealed For Hall Of Fame 2026 Induction

TNA Legend ODB Revealed For Hall Of Fame 2026 Induction

Another year, another TNA Hall Of Fame Class.

Last night at the TNA Rebellion PPV, Knockouts Legends OBD, Taryn Terrell, and Mickie James teamed up to take on the new breed of Knockouts in the Elegance Brand – two of whom are the current Knockouts Tag Team champions – represented by Ash, M, and Heather By Elegance.

The match was filled with lots of weapons and props, and while the Elegance Brand came out victorious – even pinning ODB in the match – she was the real winner of the night.

After the match was over while the ring crew was cleaning up from the mayhem that ensued, TNA President Carlos Silva and Head of Talent Relations came out from the back with Tommy on a microphone. He thanked the women for their contribution to the company and the division as a whole, and announced to ODB that she would be inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame at the Bound For Glory PPV in October.

    https://x.com/thisistna/status/2043139786937159888?s=46

TNA released their complete event schedule earlier this week, and the Bound for Glory PPV is scheduled for Sunday, October 11 at the Yeungling Center in Tampa, Florida.

ODB is a former four-time TNA Knockouts World champion, with the reigns spanning a total of 144 days, as well as being a former one-time TNA Knockouts Tag Team champion with Eric Young. That reign itself spanning 478 days.

ODB announced earlier this year that 2026 will be her last as an active performer, so it was only natural that TNA brought her in for some appearances.

ODB returned to TNA for the first time in years back in March of this year to combat the Elegance Brand, and has been standing side by side with fellow Knockouts icons Mickie James and Taryn Terrell.

  • Two Returns, New Matches Set For 4/16 Thursday Night iMPACT

Two Returns, New Matches Set For 4/16 Thursday Night iMPACT

Two matches have been made official for Thursday Night TNA iMPACT on AMC this week.

    Eric Young vs. EC3

Two days ago – after taking on Ricky Sosa on Thursday Night – Eric Young laid down an open challenge to anybody who wants it come into TNA.

Last night during the TNA Rebellion PPV, Eric Young interrupted the pre show panel that featured Director of Operations Daria Rae, Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rhewoldt, and TNA President Carlos Silva to lay out a challenge to the returning Ethan Carter III for the upcoming PPV.

    https://x.com/thisistna/status/2043117599299371395?s=46

Later on during the PPV, Young came out and officially called out EC3. Carter returned to the company for the first time in nearly six years (a Bound for Glory PPV match against Moose in 2020) to answer the challenge. Carter came out in a suit and immediately took the shirt and jacket off, squaring off with Young.

    https://x.com/thisistna/status/2043155059660484798?s=46

Young advanced toward Carter, but he ducked and ended up clotheslining Eric over the top rope and out of the ring.

    https://x.com/thisistna/status/2043151975991169493?s=46

Carter jumped on the microphone and stated that he’s not fighting him tonight, but instead laid down a challenge to Young for this Thursday in Syracuse, New York.

    KC Navarro vs. AJ Francis

KC Navarro will get his hands on AJ Francis this Thursday!

We also saw the return of former FIR$T CLA$$ member KC Navarro to the company last night during AJ Francis match with Nic Nemeth.

AJ Francis took out the referee, which prompted Cleveland Browns Legend Bernie Kosar to step into the ring and square off with Francis.

Just as it was about to get physical between the two, KC Navarro emerged from the back and distracted Francis. This led to Kosar nailing Francis with the chair from behind, and Nic landing a Danger Zone on Francis for the win.

    https://x.com/thisistna/status/2043145150470189512?s=46
