One of the most important shows on the WWE calendar is coming up. SummerSlam is definitely one of the three biggest shows WWE runs all year long and with it being two nights, it gives hope to have more people on the card. But it looks like the new World Tag Team Champions might not be defending the titles on the show.
According to Wrestlevotes on Fightful Select, there are going to be 12 or 13 matches across the two night PLE. With three more matches still planned to be announced, it seems Bron Breakker and Austin Theory are not penciled into the show yet.
“At one point, one of the planned ideas was The Vision defending the WWE World Tag Team Titles but WrestleVotes learned that that has not been finalized internally.”
Many of the complaints in the wrestling world has been of the booking of Bron Breakker. A superstar destined to be a World Champion and a main event player for the company has not been booked as that guy since being on the main roster. At one point this year as shown in season 3 of WWE Unreal, Breakker was planned to win the Royal Rumble. Here we are in late July and it is unknown how much of a factor him and the Vision will be on Summerslam.
The report also stated that one of the matches that will be featured on ESPN main channel which will be during the first hour of both nights will include Penta vs Chad Gable for the Intercontinental Championship. It is unknown still if that will be on Saturday or Sunday.
