It’s another sad day in the news cycle of professional wrestling as it has been confirmed that WWE has released many talent, with many of them falling under the NXT umbrella.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that WWE has released Wendy Choo, Adriana Rizzo, Zena Sterling, Anya Rune, Braxton Cole, Jasper Troy, PJ Vasa, Gary Wilson, Ellen Akesson and Marcus Brown.

The most notable of the names released are Choo, Rizzo and Troy. Choo had been signed to WWE since 2019 after appearing in the Mae Young Classic in 2018. Choo had many different character iterations in her seven years with the company but it never amounted to a main roster call up. The most traction Choo got was wrestling for WWE Evolve the last two years. Choo became the third Evolve Women’s Champion in April of this year. She then lost the title in June to current champion Nikkita Lyons. Choo was a very accomplished independent wrestler for years including making major appearances for Ring of Honor.

Rizzo had been signed by WWE since 2022. She was an apart of The D’Angelo Family faction in NXT which was a top group in the company. Especially as the group won the tag titles and D’Angelo won the North American Championship. Rizzo tore anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in August of 2025. Then in July of 2026, Rizzo became a ringside interview for Evolve.

Troy was signed since 2022. He made his in ring television debut in May of 2024. But in 2025, Troy was apart of the first season of LFG which is a reality competition for Performance Center recruits. Troy ended up winning the first season under the tutelage of Booker T. Troy then moved to NXT and was there since May of 2025.

As of now, there have been no main roster releases but BodySlam will keep you updated if there are more releases.
