NJPW STRONG Fighting Spirit Unleashed Results (10/28/2023), New NEVER Openweight Champion Crowned
New Japan Pro-Wrestling held its NJPW STRONG Fighting Spirit Unleashed event on October 28th in Las Vegas at Sam’s Town Live.
The main event of the show saw Tama Tonga defending the NEVER Openweight Title against Shingo Takagi. This was Tonga’s first and last defense of his third reign of the NEVER Openweight Championship as Shingo Takagi defeated Tonga to become the new champion. Trent Beretta challenged Takagi for the title via video following the match.

In another featured match, Eddie Kingston retaimed his NJPW STRONG Openweight Title when he defeated Henare. Satoshi Kojima challenged Kingston for the title at NJPW Lonestar Shootout on November 10th.

- NEVER Openweight Championship: Shingo Takagi defeated Tama Tonga (c) to become the new champion.
