Former IMPACT Wrestling Talent Possibly Headed Back to WWE?

Fightful Select has confirmed Andrew Zarian’s report that there is interest on WWE’s side in bringing back Bronson Reed. Reed was heavily pushed during the end of the Triple H NXT era. He had several looks on the WWE main roster before being released. They haven’t learned if anything beyond general interest has been put forth.

Bronson Reed went by his real name – Jonah Rock (Jonah for short) – on the independent scene once he was released. Jonah had a great run with IMPACT Wrestling. He debuted for the company in November 2021, and in December, Jonah revealed on the Busted Open Radio podcast that he had signed a short-term deal with the company, and then revealed to Bill Pritchard of Wrestlezone that his deal would expire after their Rebellion PPV in April of this year.

“My agreement with IMPACT is through Rebellion, so I know that I’ll be out there on this tour through Rebellion,” he said to WrestleZone. “I think it’s exciting to be on the road and be in different cities where those people can see IMPACT Wrestling rather than being set in one place.

“I very much had that with what NXT became after the pandemic, it was set in one place in Florida, and not that that’s not great [having a steady venue], wrestling there is good,” he noted, “but it’s always good when you can go to different towns and get a feel from different crowds.”

In May, Jonah took to Twitter to confirm that his run with IMPACT had come to an end.

Jonah has been working with New Japan Pro Wrestling since his run with IMPACT ended in May. Jonah recently competed in the G1 tournament and had a HUGE win over former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada in a phenomenal match. Jonah is scheduled for a rematch against Okada at an upcoming NJPW show.

Some fans wanted to see him back in an IMPACT Wrestling ring, but now it sounds like he’ll probably be WWE-bound sooner then later. We will continue to update this article as information becomes available.
