Marko Stunt Says He Almost Ended Up In An AEW Tag Team With Paul Wight

A possible tag team between Marko Stunt and Paul Wight almost became a reality in AEW.

Marko Stunt had an interesting run in AEW. Being a part of Jurassic Express, Stunt was involved in some high profile matchups. However, Stunt has also been ridiculed for his size, but he almost was involved in a tag team with someone who would make up for his lack of size in the wrestling ring.

When asked about any storyline ideas by Steve Fall in an interview for NBC Sports Boston, Marko revealed that there was an idea pitched by Paul Wight to do an angle that almost came to light.

“There was one with Paul Wight, where me and him talked a bit about doing an angle starting on Dark to see if it gets over… Where I’m getting like beat week after week and bullied and he is on commentary and I’m getting bullied one week and finally he gets tired of it and he throws his headset down and comes down and saves me. This was him pitching it to me actually. Then we can form this best buddy duo and I can be your best friend and play it off so well.”

“Paul Wight is legitimately my favorite wrestler of all time… I wanted to be that. I wanted to be 7 foot tall and step over the top rope and choke slam people.”

Time will tell if we will ever get to see Stunt and Wight partner up, but with Stunt starting his own wrestling promotion, it could be more possible than fans would think.
