Valentina Shevchenko Retains Flyweight Championship At UFC 275
Valentina Shevchenko successfully defended her flyweight championship against Talia Santos via split decision. Valentina ran into her toughest challenge yet in Talia Santos at UFC 275. Santos put up one hell of a fight, especially in the grappling exchanges. Every single takedown Talia went for, she was successful and threatened submissions multiple times throughout the fight.
After five hard-fought rounds, Valentina Shevchenko picked up the split decision win 48-47, 48-47, 49-46. After the fight, the champion claimed that she wants to keep going and wants whatever challenger is next in line for her.
