Fight fans are buzzing on social media after fan favorite Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier posted a photo with his head shaved and the caption announcing on his Instagram that he is going to be fighting this summer against an opponent to be named at a later time.
At the moment, the UFC has a lot to offer for Poirier who is coming off a loss to Charles Oliveira for the Lightweight championship, but after UFC 274 and the results of two Lightweight bouts, we could be seeing a bout between the “Diamond” Poirier vs Michael Chandler who he did tweet about today, they could have a anticipated rematch against Justin Gaethje or a potential bout with Tony Ferguson.
Which event will this be at? UFC 277 looks to be where Poirier could be fighting at, but if he chooses to compete in August at an event that’ll be named later, we will keep you updated on what happens next.
