Bellator 275 Media Day: Mousasi-Silva Boxing Match In The Works

On Wednesday evening Bellator held their media day for Bellator 275 from The Gibson Hotel in Dublin. Middleweight Champion Gegard Mousasi was the final fighter to face the media and dropped a fun piece of information: A boxing match between himself and MMA Legend Anderson Silva is in the works. When asked about the possibility of boxing in the future, Mousasi stated that “Showtime wanted” the fight to happen and when asked if he would fight “The Spider” in MMA he shook his head and mentioned that Silva was “too old” for that to happen at this stage of his career.

Mousasi seemed in great spirits during the media day, entering the room and jokingly saying “No pictures” and continued to joke around throughout his time in front of the media, with regards to Anderson Silva in boxing, Silva has boxed twice, defeating Julio Cesar Chavez and Tito Ortiz respectively. Gegard also appeared on the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, calling for the fight there too. Time will tell if Showtime will get their wish for a boxing match between the Bellator champ and Silva.
