Tony Khan on Twitter mentioned that a new free agent would join AEW and speculation of who this wrestler is has ignited social media to speculate on the matter. WWE has released a lot of interesting talent these last few months.
One of the first names that comes to people’s mind is that of Johnny Gargano. He is currently s free agent since his contract with WWE expired. AEW and Gargano crossing paths feels inevitable, but maybe he’ll debut with AEW later this year.
Windham Rotunda, AKA The Fiend, has been a name discussed regarding AEW and signing free agents, and he’s been a divisive wrestler for fans because of his last run with WWE as The Fiend. It’s true that he was one of WWE’s best merch sellers but his TV stuff was unwatchable for a lot of people. There’s also the fact that House of Black is already doing the spooky cult thing in AEW
Keith Lee is also another wrestler most fans have would like to see in AEW. His non-compete clause with WWE ended last week. Keith Lee would be a great addition to AEW.
Tony Khan mentioned that this mysterious would walk through the forbidden door and maybe this could be a reference of working with ROH. Considering a lot of the ROH wrestlers are free agents, Bandido could be the latest incorporation to the AEW roster. Let’s keep in mind AEW wanted him since day one, but he chose to ROH back then. Having one of the best luchadores in the world would be neat for AEW.
This Wednesday will be very interesting and AEW once again has the attention of the wrestling world.
