Jim Ross May Be Off of AEW TV for A While

The Hall of Famer Jim Ross might be taking a break from AEW in order to deal with his health issues.

Ross underwent surgery earlier this week. He is scheduled to go through 22 consecutive days of radiation in order to cure his skin cancer.

It has not yet been announced that Ross won’t be at AEW shows. Ross has also not said this outright. However, last night, Ross signed off Dynamite in a way that made it sound as if he is not sure if he will be on the next show or the show after that.

Dave Meltzer mentioned the current situation with Ross on Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer specifically touched on the Jim’s sign off last night: “If nothing else the way he said that was a thing of saying that he may not be — and I think he doesn’t know. He has 22 days of radiation starting on Monday, so it may not be, you know if he’s doing 22 straight days I don’t know if he’ll be able to go, even if he’s up to it. He could be gone for a few weeks. Hopefully, everything works out.” (h/t to Ringside News for the quote)

Ross has already said on his podcast that he did not plan on taking any time off. However, with the 22 consecutive days of radiation scheduled, that may change.

All of Bodyslam wishes Ross well on his road to recovery. It is without a doubt that he will be missed by the fans.
