AEW women’s division isn’t a big one, but it’s now smaller by one.
It seems that All Elite Wrestling has decided to part ways with Ivelisse Velez. Prior to this, there had been a report she had heat with coaches in AEW and now it seems she will not be brought back to the company.
Fightful Select has reported she has not been at recent tapings, in addition to saying talent haven’t expected her to return after having open disagreements with the agents backstage. While no context was given, it was confirmed there were problems.
AEW seemed to really believe in her, as her and Diamante won their first ever women’s tag team tournament which even saw her defeat Brandi Rhodes in the tournament final. She did, however, have some issues pop up early in her AEW tenure when people talked about her match against Thunder Rosa.
Ivelisse, in a now deleted tweet, said that her release had to do with speaking out against something. While it is unknown what she was speaking out against, it definitely seems she is officially gone from the company as AEW has been using Diamante as a singles wrestler in recent tapings. In the meantime, fans have derided the remark and pointing out a specific moment in her Thunder Rosa match where she clearly showed a lack of willingness to work with her opponent.
