Roman Reigns On Why He Chose To Return To Saudi Arabia and Feud With Shane McMahon

We are less than two weeks away from Super Showdown in Saudi Arabia. WWE has been going for a couple years now and just last year started filming special events.

There are a number of wrestlers not going to the event for a bevy of reasons. But, one superstar who originally decided not to go to the KSA, has now reconsidered.

Roman Reigns sat down with Newsweek and spoke about his decision to appear at Super Showdown.

It gets a lot of mixed and negative reactions. The bottom line for me is, if we’re going to help promote change, if we’re going to set out to make an impact than I have to be a part of it. I’m not going to sit on the sideline and talk about how we can get there. I want to be a part of the action. I look at it as being a part of the solution while still respecting cultures, but it’s a big world and I want to experience all of it. So if we can help make a positive impact that’s what we’re here to do. We’re here to put smiles on everyone’s faces. We don’t discriminate, that’s our goal to help and promote positivity and take that to every inch of the world.

Roman will be working a match against Shane McMahon, whom Roman has been feuding with for almost two months. Roman also commented on his feud with Shane.

I love it man. Shane is an authority figure but like I said Monday night he’s a spoiled rich kid. He’s out here trying to play with his dad’s toys. It’s funny to me, it’s not being in there with Vince or with Stephanie he’s a different character and we’ve all known that dude in high school. In your head you’re just like “screw this guy.” He may have thrown the party but he’s the biggest douche in the room. That’s what‘s cool, that character and we’re able to do that and we’re able to connect with that. But for me it’s fun because I did this, I grinded for mine. The way I feed my children I clocked in every single day, I sacrificed and been away for a long time. So it’s a completely different character that I’m going up against so I think that’s cool.

Other topics in the interview have Roman discussing how he feels about not being in the championship picture and his feeling towards Seth Rollins and Kofi Kingston.
