2018 Mae Young Classic Participant Banned From Wrestling In The United States Until 2023

(2018 Mae Young Classic Spoiler inside)

A competitor in this year’s second annual Mae Young Classic has been banned from competing in United States for five years.

Independent Canadian wrestler Nicole Matthews was a participant in the 2018 Mae Young Classic, where she made it to the second round before losing to Tegan Nox. However, it does not appear that she will be a participant in the tournament next year or the next five for that matter.

It was mentioned in this week’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Matthew had some type of issue at the US/Canadian border, and as a result she is not allowed to work in the United States again for five years.

Matthews issues at the border were recently noted, although specifics were not made public. What is known however, is that she will not be allowed back into the United States to wrestle until 2023.

This is not the first time that an independent wrestler has had issues at the border, as “Speedball” Mike Bailey reportedly is under a similar ban, as he too is not allowed to work in the United States over the next few years.
