WWE Talents Asked To Take Pay Cut Reportedly Not Seen As “High-End Players”

Earlier this week, we reported exclusively on the Bodyslam+ Patreon that TKO asked several WWE talents to restructure their contracts. The company reportedly made the move because of concerns about talent pay compared to production value.

Now, a new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has shared more details. According to the report, fewer than six talents agreed to take pay cuts. Those talents reportedly would have been released if they refused the new contracts.

The report also stated that the talents involved were not viewed as “high-end players.” Creative reportedly had little interest in using them on television going forward.

The current plan is for those talents to stay under contract. However, their in-ring roles are expected to decrease over time.

The report comes after another major WWE contract story. We previously reported on the Bodyslam+ Patreon that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods asked for their WWE releases. Both talents reportedly made that decision after being asked to take less money in new contracts. The situation has increased attention on WWE contract talks and TKO’s recent roster changes.

We will keep you updated here at Bodyslam.net if any more information becomes available regarding WWE Talents and the recent pay cuts.

AEW Denies Contract Negotiations With Aleister Black

Aleister Black was apart of WWE’s most recent crop of releases late last month. Aleister is a former AEW wrestler, as well. Naturally people started speculating on if he could once again be ‘All Elite.’

Today, SEScoops put out a report that AEW and Aleister Black were currently in some sort of contract negotiations, which had fans raising their eyebrows. Now, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp has reported that after reaching out to AEW about the matter, they’ve denied that they’re currently in negotiations with Black.

Aliester Black is only about 2 or so weeks into his 90-day no compete. He will be available to sign anywhere after the 90 day period
