There is no denying that Rey Mysterio is a true legend in the professional wrestling business.
He has been active since 1989 when he was only 14 years old. He wasn’t the first Mysterio in the business, but he has grown the name and built a legacy far beyond his predecessors. Though he will one day have to retire we know that the Mysterio legacy will continue. This isn’t only thanks to Dominik Mysterio, but now to Aalyah as well.
Both of his children are currently signed with WWE. Dominik Mysterio is the current AAA Mega Champion and Aalyah is in the process of training at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
Rey spoke with SunSport and gave the following update on how Aalyah’s training is progressing:
“She’s doing good. She’s about a month and a weekend of training in, and she picks up very fast. But she also gets very frustrated very easy, but it’s normal. She wasn’t around as much like Dom (was as a kid), backstage playing and hanging out with the boys and the wrestlers and the staff and crew. So, she struggles a little bit. She’s completely new to the industry in the sense that training, knowing wrestlers, knowing wrestling names, moves — all these little things that if you try to combine everything at once, you’re gonna go crazy because there’s so much, so much to learn here! But, she’s enjoying it very, very much.”
Aalyah is just the latest in the line of second generation wrestlers to catch the wrestling bug. We will keep you updated as any news of her progress gets reported.
