One of the biggest surprise stories in AEW over the last year has even the emergence of Kevin Knight. After signing a one year deal, Tony Khan extended him to a big multi year deal seemingly confirming how important Khan feels Knight is to the future of AEW. To that point, it seems a bigger push could be coming for Kevin Knight.
According to Fightful Select, the current TNT Champion might be getting a big opportunity for the world title in the very near future. Knight did challenge MJF for the world title a couple months ago but he could be getting a PPV world title match soon.
“Sources in AEW spoke with Fightful and claimed Kevin Knight was discussed for an upcoming World Championship match, and that the AEW Redemption PPV wasn’t completely off the table. In addition, we’ve heard he’s been planned for feuds against other world title-level talent. “
Kevin Knight’s first world title opportunity came as a babyface but this would be his first chance at the AEW World Championship since turning heel at Double or Nothing. Knight seems to be feuding with Darby Allin at the moment but it makes sense if they want to add him to the World Title mix before we get the eventual Kenny Omega vs Will Ospreay match at All In.
