Mick Foley Opens Up About Distancing Himself From WWE

    BANG BANG!

Former WWE Legend Mick Foley let his legends contract expire on December 16th 2025 after being with the company for over 30 years. He claims he left the company due to their relationship with President Trump.

He finally opened up about him distancing himself with the company on the June 2nd episode of the Ariel Helwani show.

“I felt that because I had a Legends deal, and because my name’s been associated with WWE for over 30 years, that I was complicit in my silence”

“I realized that by giving up two really easy, very high-paying jobs during WrestleMania week with WWE, I’d have to work 24 hours on my own to make what I could have made in six, and I’m okay with that”

“I made the move that I felt was right for me. I love that company. I’m not going to disparage them. It just didn’t seem like a good fit. It didn’t seem like a fit that would allow me to look at myself in the mirror before I went to bed”

Foley signed with AEW in May 2026. You can watch the full Mick Foley interview on the Ariel Helwani Show below:

  • Big Damo & Nikki Storm Explain Acquisition Of PROGRESS Wrestling

Big Damo & Nikki Storm Explain Acquisition Of PROGRESS Wrestling

Last month news broke that former WWE Superstars Killian Dain and Nikki Cross, now known as Big Damo and Nikki Storm, had purchased PROGRESS Wrestling from Lee McAteer and Martyn Best, who had been owners the promotion since December 2021.

Big Damo and Nikki Storm recently spoke with Tom Campbell of Cultaholic wrestling about the purchase of PROGRESS and how the acquisition came about.

“Genuinely, this was not on the bingo card for us, either. We have talked about a million different scenarios for a long time. We have been wrestling for 22 years, Nikki has been wrestling for 18 years, so we know there is a time limit. We are going to have to start thinking about what is the future and we thought that was going to be with our little Scottish promotion in Glasgow, but no, it turns out.

“This opportunity came along a few weeks ago. Not long after Nikki had been released, actually. It was only a few days after. I’ll just be honest, I was in Belfast about to jump on a plane going to another show and I had to sit thinking about it on the plane like, ‘This is wild. There’s no way this could happen.’ Then I come off the plane and we start talking about it seriously. At first we were talking with James Amner, he’s been in situ at PROGRESS for a long, long time. He’s one of the hidden gems. He hates credit in every single way but he’s one of the reasons PROGRESS has been ticking over at all for maybe a decade.

“When I broached Nikki with it, she was like, ‘What?’ So there’s been plenty of conversations and, listen, the boys made it very easy. I dealt directly with Martyn Best…and he was very patient with me and we were able to come to the best agreement for both of us. That was one of the most amazing experiences in terms of how easy he made that for me. This could have been very, very difficult and this could have been out of our reach, realistically, because we are living in the United States. That is still our home. Obviously that will change in the next few years but that is our handicap, effectively, in one regard. But now it’s putting us in a position where we’re starting to think about, ‘Okay, what do we want to do next?’ and PROGRESS Wrestling has answered a lot of those questions very quickly.

“We can now start thinking about long term, and that’s something Nikki and I were talking about the other day. Our goal is to make this into the number one independent promotion on the planet.”

  • Jeff Jarrett Questions WWE’s Long-Term Plans for Chad Gable

Jeff Jarrett Questions WWE’s Long-Term Plans for Chad Gable

    Shoooosh!

Over the last few years, WWE Superstar Chad Gable has cemented himself as one of the best in the industry. His program as The Original El Grande Americano and the mask vs. mask match last weekend, has been praised as one of the be best in recent years. However, according to WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett, Gable’s future with WWE may not be as promising as many would hope.

On the latest episode of My World with Jeff Jarrett, he discussed Chad Gable’s standing within WWE, and how he believes the company views him.

“I just don’t see the WWE [pushing him], because he worked under the Vince regime. And obviously now he’s worked under Triple H regime. They’re not all of a sudden magically going to go ‘Oh yeah, he’s our guy.”

“I would absolutely leverage [the contact situation] with New Japan having new owners. I just think he [Gable] needs to keep doing what he’s doing, but be ready to leave. I don’t see TKO coming to him and saying, ‘Hey man, you performed great in Monterrey, we’re going to give you a bump [in pay]…”
