Bayley’s absence from WWE television may be approaching its end.
WWE has received creative pitches involving Bayley on the Raw brand, according to PWInsider. The former Women’s Champion is reportedly expected to return to the road within the next few weeks.
No exact date or storyline has been finalized publicly, and WWE has not formally announced her return.
Bayley last appeared on television at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18, where she lost to former friend and tag team partner Lyra Valkyria. Valkyria rendered Bayley unconscious with a modified bulldog submission to win the match. She continued the attack afterward, driving Bayley into the ring post and steel steps before applying the hold again.
The post-match assault provided WWE with a storyline explanation for Bayley’s disappearance. Although she has not returned to television, Bayley did wrestle at a live event in Bakersfield, California, on July 26. Her continued absence subsequently led to questions about her status with the company.
Dave Meltzer addressed the speculation in the August 24 Wrestling Observer Newsletter, pointing to WWE’s repeated references to Bayley during Raw. Meltzer interpreted those mentions as an indication that the promotion expected her to return, reasoning that WWE would be less likely to keep her name in its storylines if officials believed she was leaving.
The new report provides stronger support for that possibility, as creative ideas are now said to be under consideration for her return to Raw.
Bayley remains one of the most decorated women in WWE history. Her résumé includes reigns with the NXT, Raw, SmackDown and WWE Women’s championships, along with two runs as a WWE Women’s Tag Team champion. She also won the 2019 Money in the Bank ladder match and the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble.
For now, the timing and direction of Bayley’s comeback remain unclear. The reported creative discussions indicate that WWE is preparing for her return, but they do not guarantee that she will appear on any particular episode.
