WWE may have changed the planned opponents for Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley at Sunday Night’s Main Event.
An earlier report from WrestleVotes’ JoeyVotes indicated that WWE had loosely discussed booking the trio against Fatal Influence at SNME. However, new information attributed to TRNBCKL Gold instead identifies Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab as the current prospective opponents.
According to the newer report, that version of the six-woman tag team match could be announced during the Aug. 28 episode of SmackDown.
WWE has not officially added either match to the card, which is scheduled for Sept. 6 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. The two reports therefore appear to represent different ideas considered during the creative process rather than separate confirmed bookings.
JoeyVotes previously said the Fatal Influence matchup had been discussed for the show, which WWE reportedly views as a premium-live-event-style television special. That report characterized the proposal as tentative.
The newer lineup has more direct support from recent SmackDown storylines. During Charlotte’s Aug. 7 match against Cargill, Michin and B-Fab attempted to interfere on Jade’s behalf. Bliss returned during the confrontation, while Paxley made her main-roster debut by neutralizing Cargill’s two allies. Charlotte subsequently defeated Cargill before celebrating with Bliss and Paxley, establishing two clear three-woman sides.
Sunday Night’s Main Event currently features the following:
* Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton
* Oba Femi vs. Bron Breakker
* United States Champion Baron Corbin vs. Lil Yachty in a five-minute challenge that could earn Trick Williams a championship rematch later in the night
