Deonna Purrazzo Has Been In Talks With AEW And WWE

The Virtuosa could be joining a major promotion soon.

Following her release from the WWE in 2020, Deonna Purrazzo inked a deal with Impact Wrestling where she would go on to dominate the Knockouts division, winning the Knockouts Championship three times where her first reign lasted 98 days, her second lasted 343 days before losing it to Mickie James at Bound For Glory in 2021, and her third and final reign lasted 90 days before losing it to Trinity at Slammiversary.

Fightful Select first reported the news that before the end of her contract with TNA Wrestling, Purrazzo was linked to having talks with both All Elite Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment.

Numerous sources have also indicated to Fightful that there have been some internal talks in AEW with Purrazzo directly where they are hopeful that they can land her in free agency.

There have also been talks between Purrazzo and the WWE, but sources have indicated to Fightful that most if not all of their free-agency discussions had been tabled until the new year started.

The only match that Purrazzo has had in AEW was when she faced off against Mercedes Martinez in a championship unification match for the ROH Women’s World Championship which she would go on to lose on the May 4, 2022 edition of Dynamite.

Purrazzo’s time in WWE was spent in NXT for two years, she wrestled only sixteen televised matches and according to Purrazzo, she was told by WWE Creative that they believed she was not ready for television just yet.

We will have more on this as we learn a lot more details on if Purrazzo will be headed to AEW or WWE anytime soon.
