Roxanne Perez says she is indeed ready for Asuka.
Perez has been a staple of the NXT women’s division for the last year, and despite losing the NXT Women’s Championship, she will continue to be at the top as she will face Asuka on this week’s edition of NXT.
Speaking to Booker T on his Hall of Fame podcast, Perez was asked about her match with Asuka.
“I am so ready. You know, I was thinking about this. Kiana James gave me a big task. I have a big task ahead of me, Asuka, Grand Slam Champion, longest-reigning NXT Women’s Champion undefeated in NXT. I think people tend to forget that I’m a prodigy. I’m ‘The Prodigy.’ I’ve been grinding since I was 13 years old. I’ve been perfecting my craft so that one day when I made it to the WWE, I was performing at a mastery level to the likes of Asuka. So I think I’m ready. I think I’m so ready,”

Roxanne almost got her opportunity to face off with Becky Lynch when she attempted to become number 1 contender for The Man’s NXT title. Unfortunately, she would fail to win the matchup.
