Adam Copeland Says Metalingus Theme Is Very Important To Him

Adam Copeland talks about his iconic theme music.

Last night at the conclusion of AEW WrestleDream, Sting and Darby Allin were at the mercy of Christian, Luchasauras and Nick Wayne to conclude the show.

As they prepared a conchairto, Adam Copeland would make his AEW debut to make the save for Sting and Darby, shaking both men’s hands.

Copeland made his debut to his signature theme song, Metalingus by Alter Bridge.

At the AEW WrestleDream post-show media scrum, Copeland was asked about getting the rights to use “Metalingus” in AEW.

“Alter Bridge are my friends. Mark Tremonti, who wrote the song, is a very good friend. That song is with me wherever I go. That was very important to me. I’ve always been very musically motivated and I think it sets the tone for a character and it also sets the tone for Adam to get in that place. That music, from the first time I heard it in Mark’s house, after I dropped a beer in his foyer, after just meeting him, he played that for me with his scratch lyrics on it and I was out with a neck injury. I said, ‘Can I have that song?’ ‘Absolutely, dude.’ We had just met. 20 years later, here we are, I called Mark and I said, ‘what do you think?’ ‘Absolutely. That answer is not going to change.’ That was really pivotal and important to me. It would have felt weird coming out to something else,”

Copeland is scheduled to face Luchasauras in his AEW debut on Title Tuesday and will speak on this week’s AEW Dynamite.

Copeland is said to be looking to take over the role CM Punk served in the company prior to his firing, minus the drama.
