Orange Cassidy Believes His Haters Will Never Admit They Were Wrong About Him

Lee South Darby Allin & Orange Cassidy vs Sammy Guevara & Daniel Garcia Saskatoon, SK AEW Collision July 12, 2023

Orange Cassidy believes that his haters will never admit they were wrong about him.

At AEW All Out earlier this month, Orange Cassidy defended his AEW International Championship for what would be the final time as after a brutal battle, Jon Moxley pinned down the broken champion for the 3 count with the Paradigm Shift.

After the matchup, The Best Friends would make their way to the ring and give the people what they wanted in an incredibly wholesome moment as Orange Cassidy was held up by his closest friends.

Speaking to Busted Open Radio, Cassidy was asked about changing fan perception as he’s grown as a performer.

“I think I will change people’s perception but they will never admit it. How many people on Twitter will be like, ‘You know what? I was wrong.’ Maybe a couple of people, but we’re talking less than 10%. That’s okay. I don’t care. If you don’t like me and you don’t like what I’m doing, and you don’t appreciate what I’m doing, that’s fine. I’m not going to stop doing what I want to do. I’m not going to stop wrestling the way I wrestle because that’s what I do,” he said.

When host Mark Henry said that people are unfamiliar with Cassidy, his style, and how it hasn’t been done before, Cassidy commented, “That’s always going to be a problem, right? Because people are familiar with being comfortable. Usually, people like tradition and routine. I’m not saying everybody. When something gets broken or something is new. It’s like, ‘That’s not what I like. That’s not what I’ve watched before.’ It can take some time to get different styles. It’s funny you keep saying people have adapted to me and my style. I don’t like to think anybody has to adapt to my wrestling style.”

Cassidy is currently set for action on tonight’s edition of AEW Rampage: Grand Slam in mixed trios action.

Time will tell what comes next for Orange, but for now he will look to recover after around 30 defenses of the International Title.
