Belief That Recent Massive Cuts By WWE “Wouldn’t Have Happened Under” Stephanie McMahon

There is a belief in both current and recently laid off employees that the recent major cuts would not have happened under Stephanie McMahon.

On September 15th, WWE would let go of over 100 employees following the finalization of the WWE-UFC merger.

This cost cutting measure was a heavy morale killer in WWE, as over a 100 people losing their jobs would undoubtedly do to any workplace environment.

PWInsider now reports that several current and just laid off WWE employees are under the belief that this would not have happened.

One thing that’s been talked up by current and now-former WWE employees we spoke with over the weekend is that this “wouldn’t have happened” under Stephanie McMahon’s watch.  Whether that is accurate or not is impossible to say, but there were a lot of people reflecting on how hard Stephanie worked to build morale and instill pride among those working for the company in the time period where she returned during Vince McMahon’s exit and many of them spoke about how missed she has been since she exited.  As much as she was loved by many in the company, she couldn’t have prevented the sale.

While Stephanie may have wanted to instill a positive work environment, it is unlikely there would have been anything she could have done with regard to the lay offs following the TKO Group merger and sale to Endeavor.

During WrestleMania 39 weekend, the sale was officially announced as Vince had accepted an offer from Endeavor and the plan became to merge the WWE and UFC to form a 21 billion dollar company. Now, the merger with the UFC to form a new company, TKO Group has finalized as the company will now start trading on the stock market.
