On August 10th, DVon joined Bully on Busted Open Radio and revealed that the team would reunite for the first time in 7 years at IMPACT1000.
On August 26th, it was announced by IMPACT Wrestling that not only will Team 3D be appearing, but they’ll be COMPETING at IMPACT1000.
Their opponents have not been revealed yet.
Speaking with Sports Illustrated, D-Von noted that being in the ring more frequently had him pondering a return.
“It’s no secret I had the stroke in 2019, which was stress-related,” said D-Von. “Working behind-the-scenes for WWE at the time as a backstage producer was very stressful. A year later, when I had back surgery, I thought I was done. But I had a great trainer, and I kept getting stronger. Then I thought, ‘Let me get in the ring and try it again.’
“At first, I was a little off. But then I started doing it on a regular basis. I thought, ‘What if I do something with Bubba? Or something with my sons, who wrestle on the independent scene?’ The more I did it, the better I moved. At my wrestling school, I started getting into the ring with my students. Then I got the call from Bubba about doing the thousandth episode of Impact! He asked if I could get into ring shape, and I said, ‘Hell yeah.’ I’ve been working so hard to prove I haven’t lost a step. I’m ready for another 3D.”
Also in the same interview, D’Von revealed that the 2018 WWE Hall of Famers have signed legends agreements with WWE.
“Before us, there were a lot of great teams, too,” said D-Von. “There was the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express, Terry’ Bam Bam’ Gordy and ‘Dr. Death’ Steve Williams, the Midnight Express, the Hart Foundation, the British Bulldogs, and the Road Warriors, who we idolized. That was all a different era. During the ‘Attitude Era,’ we became, hands down, the greatest tag team of our era.”
Bubba added, “As long as there is breath in our lungs, we are still the greatest tag team on the planet today. No one else comes close.”

After announcing that TEAM 3D will be competing at IMPACT1000, the company released a ”Team 3D Most Legendary Matches” video compilation of just that.
Team 3D’s last tag match with TNA/IMPACT Wrestling was Bound For Glory 2014 when them 3D defeated Tommy Dreamer & Abyss in a Hardcore Tag Team Match, but their last tag team match outside of IMPACT was in December of 2016 for House Of Glory.
D’Von suffered a stroke in 2019 and then had a back surgery in 2020. It sounds like he’s been prepping for an in-ring return recently.
Bully Ray has been a regular part of the IMPACT Wrestling roster since October 2022 when he returned to the company at Bound for Glory in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet Match.

IMPACT1000 is a television taping that will be held TONIGHT from the Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York, and it will air on 9/14 and most likely 9/21 as well.
