EC3 looks to court CM Punk.
It has been a tumultuous couple of weeks regarding CM Punk. At AEW All In, Punk was involved in yet another backstage altercation. However, this one would be different than those in the past in various ways. Namely, Punk not only fought with Jack Perry, he also reportedly lunged at AEW president Tony Khan while furiously quitting the company.
These events would leave Khan no other choice but to fire the Chicago native with cause, despite Punk’s drawing power and status as the companies “real world’s champion”. Punk has yet to comment on the matter.
EC3 spoke in an interview with UnSkripted on SportsKeeda recently alongside Bill Apter and noted that he would love to have Punk in NWA.
“Obviously, CM Punk, Chicago ties with Billy Corgan so that would be a fantastic challenger. There is a lot of speculation and roundabout talking about the dealings with him and his previous employer, whatever. What I do think about him is that he is dynamite in the ring and dynamite on the microphone. We can definitely draw a lot of intrigue and I’d be into it. Throwing that out there, to have him come in, would be a game changer. Our locker room has a more professional atmosphere sometimes, so I don’t think the shenanigans and tomfoolery of the intertwining and dramatics would take place as much as people striving to be the best version of themselves and the best version of anybody as EC3 as the Worlds Heavyweight Champion,”

EC3 is the current NWA World heavyweight Champion after defeating Tyrus and saving us all.
Punk has had an intense history of backstage drama in the promotion, with the AEW All Out Brawl perhaps being the most infamous incident in All Elite Wrestling’s short history and more recently, Punk has been reported to have had issues with several AEW stars backstage.
