Von Wagner and Bron Breakker faced one another in the main event of the September 5 episode of NXT in singles competition. At the end of the hour, Breakker lumped Wagner on top of nearby steel steps and it was implied that the Steiner offspring had slammed another set of stairs on Wagner’s head when the screen cut to black while commentary continued.
However, Wagner was soon shown to be carried out, his head covered in bandages – some of which were stained red.
A Twitter/X user by the name of Debbie @ Wrestling in 60 Seconds shared a still image that better captures the impact that the stairs had left on him:
The assault left a hush in the crowd and an uneasiness among the talents at ringside.
