During the LIVE Emergence broadcast tonight, Maclin made his return to the company when he emerged from the back during the 4 on 4 match and attacked Bully Ray, before turning his complete attention to Josh Alexander. Maclin specifically targeted the previously-injured bicep on Alexander.
Alexander and Maclin were scheduled to battle each other for the IMPACT World Title at IMPACT Rebellion PPV back in April before Josh injured his biceps.
Josh returned at Slammiversay after being out since March when he was forced to relinquish the IMPACT World Title due to injury. By the time Josh returned, Maclin was out with his own injury.
Maclin was injured during the IMPACT Australia Down Under Tour back at the end of June while battling Alex Shelley for his contractual rematch for the IMPACT World Title.
Maclin had been out of action with no update since that time, that is, up until August 16th when Maclin himself took to his social media Twitter account to let everybody know that he was “100% cleared” and ready to get back to causing #MayhemForAll. Bodyslam covered the Tweet almost immediately after it went up.
There was no announced return date, so fans could only speculate when he would be back. Tonight…we got our answer.
