Santana Cleared For Return To Ring, Reunion With Ortiz “Not Impossible” Despite Issues

Santana is ready to return to an AEW ring.

Back at Blood and Guts last summer, Santana would enter the matchup like a house on fire, but would end up collapsing to the floor holding his knee soon after.

Recently, Santana has been posting vignette’s teasing his return and now, over a year later, is ready to return to the ring per Fightful Select. The outlet notes that Santana and Ortiz are still not on great terms, something that was reported prior to his injury last year.

Santana, who sustained a torn ACL in 2022 Blood & Guts match, has been out of action ever since. After a long social media absence, Santana recently returned and posted vignettes, but has yet to return to the ring. We confirmed that Santana is ready for an in ring return. For those asking, we’re told that as of him being cleared for a return, he and Ortiz were still not on good terms. However, that had been the case for quite a while before the injury, and it’s not impossible that the two can work together again following his return. Speaking of Ortiz – there’s plenty adding to the traction that could mean he’s planned for a spot on the Wembley AEW All In card. Ortiz was scheduled for a Limitless Wrestling show next weekend, but was pulled from the event. In following up, we were told it was due to an AEW related obligation. There are several wrestlers not booked for the card that are being sent to the UK, but we’ve also heard of plenty that aren’t.

We will have to wait and see if Santana will return to the company prior to All In next week in London, and if he will return to the promotion alongside his tag team partner.
