Kazuchika Okada Comments On G1 Loss To Will Ospreay: It Burns Me Up, We’re Like Brothers

On July 27th at the Ota City General Gymnasium, NJPW held another night of G1 Climax 33 action. In the main event, Will Ospreay handed Kazuchika Okada his first defeat of the tournament after hitting a Stormbreaker at the 17 minute mark.

Backstage after the match, Okada spoke about his relationship with Will Ospreay and how he felt about the loss:

Well, losing to Ospreay today is nothing to be ashamed of. But it still burns me up. Even though we fight on different teams, we’re still like brothers, in some ways. Nothing’s worse than losing to your little bro,” Okada said. “Well, I’ve known for years just how strong Ospreay really is. Unfortunately, that’s it for our meeting in the G1 blocks. Ospreay… See you in the finals.

On August 1st, Kazuchika Okada will face his next G1 opponent KENTA, while Will Ospreay is set to lock up with Tanga Loa.
