CM Punk Admits He Considered Not Returning After AEW All Out 2022 Incident

CM Punk was hesitant to make a return to All Elite Wrestling after AEW All Out 2022.

After defeating Jon Moxley to reclaim the AEW World Title at the event, Punk would go on an infamous rant in the post show media scrum, where he targeted The Elite, Hangman Page and Colt Cabana. After, a brawl was ignited, something that Punk maintains “wasn’t a big deal.”

While speaking to ESPN, Punk detailed how he considered not returning to AEW after the incident.

“I certainly had some low moments, and I won’t rule out in those fleeting moments where I just say, ‘Ah, f— this, whatever,'” Punk said. “But I don’t ever think it was a serious intention to say that I’m done. There’s still work to do, and I think I’m excited about a lot of stuff that’s coming up. So, to just throw the baby out with the bathwater, just because of a little boo-boo, I think would be a little silly.”

Punk will make his return to AEW programming this Saturday on the debut episode of Collision as he teams with FTR to take on Samoa Joe and Bullet Club Gold in Trios action.

Elsewhere in the interview, Punk stated that he apologized to Tony the first time he sat down with the AEW president after the incident.
